Photocured Composite Films with Microfibrillated Cellulose: A Study of Water Vapor Permeability

نویسندگان

چکیده

Photocuring is a crosslinking process, widely employed to produce polymers in the form of film. As it an environmentally friendly particularly interesting for preparation sustainable materials and composites. In this work, composite self-standing films were obtained combining microfibrillated cellulose (MFC) photocured matrices. To understand influence polarity surface tension matrix on properties composite, poly(ethylene glycol) diacrylate was selected as hydrophilic soybean oil epoxidized acrylate hydrophobic matrix. Furthermore, weight fraction MFC also varied. The conversion rate curing reaction, water vapor permeability studied discussed light morphology composition

Water Vapor Barrier Properties of Coated and Filled Microfibrillated Cellulose Composite Films

Microfibrillated celluloses (MFCs) have mechanical properties sufficient for packaging applications but lack water vapor barrier properties in comparison to petroleum-based plastics. These properties can be modified by the use of mineral fillers, added within the film structure, or waxes, as surface coatings. In this investigation it was determined that addition of fillers resulted in films wit...

A Nanocellulose Polypyrrole Composite Based on Microfibrillated Cellulose from Wood

It is demonstrated that it is possible to coat the individual fibers of wood-based nanocellulose with polypyrrole using in situ chemical polymerization to obtain an electrically conducting continuous high-surface-area composite. The experimental results indicate that the high surface area of the water dispersed material, to a large extent, is maintained upon normal drying without the use of any...

biodegradable carboxymethyl cellulose films modified by polyvinyl alcohol and cellulose nanowhiskers:(2) thermal, water vapor permeability and surface hydrophilicity properties

carboxymethyl cellulose (cmc)-polyvinyl alcohol (pvoh) blend film was produced through casting. cellulose nanowhisker (cnw) was produced by means of acid hydrolysis of cotton linter and cmc-pvoh-cellulose nanowhiskers through which fully degradable bionanocomposites were prepared. prepared nanowhisker suspension contained rod like particles averaging lengths of 240 nm and diameters of 13 nm. an...

modeling water vapor sorption and permeability in starch-montmorillonite nanocomposite films

the aim of this study was to investigate the rate of water vapor permeability (wvp) and moisture sorption of starch-montmorillonite (mmt) nanocomposite films. the nanocomposite films were prepared using the casting method andglycerol was used as a plasticizer. the effect of glycerol concentration on wvp of the films was determined at 25°c with a relative humidity of 0-99% (inside and outside of...

Flexible Cellulose Nanofibril Composite Films with Reduced Hygroscopic Capacity

Cellulose nanofibrils (CNFs), which are generated from abundant, environmentally friendly natural plant resources, display numerous interesting properties such as outstanding mechanical strength, negligible light scattering, and low thermal expansion (Zimmermann et al., 2010). These nanofibers are usually created by mechanical fibrillation or chemical oxidation of pulp fibers. CNFs have previou...
